Motorola Inc. (Holtsville, NY) announces the release of the MC9500, an industrial-class handheld device that brings mobile computing and new features like modular 3.5G WAN to the industrial facility. The MC9500 features a Marvell Xcale PXA320@806 MHz processor running Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1, in addition to enterprise-class GPS functionality. A variety of data capture options, such as 1D laser scanning or 2D imaging is possible in combination with a 3-megapixel autofocus digital color camera. In addition, the MC9500 is designed for the most demanding field mobility applications with modular 3.5G WAN and support for GSM HSDPA or CMDA-EVDO Rev A wireless broadband connectivity—known as Motorola MAX FlexWAN.
