Wireless Access Monitoring For Cranes

Keytroller, LLC recently expanded the usage of it’s popular LCD-602 model from forklifts and equipment to controlling access and monitoring the usage of an overhead crane.

Tampa, FL - Keytroller, LLC recently expanded the usage of it’s popular LCD-602 model from forklifts and equipment to controlling access and monitoring the usage of an overhead crane.  Keytroller LCD-602 easily connects to any cabinet or locker holding the crane’s wireless pendant. The crane user logs onto the device using his company RFID card. If he is authorized for crane usage and presses START, it will open an electronic strike-- unlocking the cabinet and the user removes the pendant. The Keytroller will then present a preconfigured custom checklist that the operator must complete before using the crane. All event data is automatically transmitted through the client’s WiFi network to Keytroller's FMS software where automatic emails and usage reports can be generated.

When the user is finished with the crane, he returns to the device and logs back in with his RFID card and then presses STOP ---which will then reopen the electric strike ---and he places the pendant back into the cabinet. Operators are now accountable for the usage and proper checks of that crane. Text messages can also be wirelessly sent to each device from the software. Both maintenance and operator training can be scheduled. All programming and event logging is done wirelessly making management of the system very easy to operate.
