Mahr's Waterproof Digital Calipers

The MarCal 16 EWR offers IP 67 protection against dust, coolants and lubricants, an extended three-year battery life and an innovative zero-reference system.

Mahr Federal (Providence, RI) introduced the next generation of waterproof digital calipers with the new MarCal 16 EWR. Featuring a new ergonomic design with lapped guideways and larger display, the MarCal 16 EWR offers IP 67 protection against dust, coolants and lubricants, extended three-year battery life and an innovative zero-reference system which automatically stores the zero position for further measurements.

The ergonomic design of the new MarCal 16 EWR digital calipers features a non-slip thumb support that ensures trouble-free handling and reliable results even in contaminated working conditions. A large high-contrast display with 11 mm digits enables accurate fatigue-free reading, and IP 67-rated construction delivers outstanding protection against dust and temporary water immersion. The finished plastic components also provide chemical resistance.

All Mahr digital calipers with the "Reference" logo are equipped with a new innovative Reference System in which the zero position only has to be set once. After setting, the zero remains stored for all further measurements, eliminating the need to reset zero every time the caliper is switched on. The new reference system is also extremely energy efficient. When the caliper is in standby mode and Integrated Wireless is deactivated, almost no power is required, thus extending battery life up to three years.

In addition to the standard guideway locking screw, the new MarCal 16 EWR is equipped with an electronic LOCK function. With this key lock, the zero position is secured and operating error avoided.
