Labconco Purifier® Axiom™ BioSafety Cabinets from Terra Universal
Fullerton, CA – The unique Type C1 Purifier Axiom Biosafety Cabinets (BSCs) manufactured by Labconco convert from a Type A (recirculating) to a Type B (exhaust) workstation easily and safely. An exhaust duct is connected or disconnected, depending on application, and doesn’t need a dedicated remote blower; Axiom can be connected to an existing duct system.
Dual HEPA filters are engaged when set up for recirculating operation: a supply-air HEPA and an exhaust-air HEPA. Type B operations use one HEPA filter for exhaust, prior to air passing into the facility’s ductwork. Inlet grills and plenums work to bring in make-up air and recirculate as designed, depending on the mode.
The Chem-Zone™ work surface is a three-piece design to help technicians organize their work surface and use the cabinet for either Type. Preparation and supply storage occurs in the staging areas, while a convenient lift-out surface easily manages chemical spills. The center area used as a primary working space is located directly under the HEPA filter, so hazardous fumes are quickly removed from the work area and not recirculated.
