Union Process recently produced the 30SD and 50SD dry grinding Attritors to work in tandem, with one unit milling a dry powder for nano-sized particle reduction, and then transferring the material to the other unit for complete and thorough dispersion and blending in a second-stage wet process. The dry powder created in the 30SD is transferred via a dry powder pump into the 50SD for this 2-stage process. Other features include:
- An LCD operator interface module to display the agitator RPM, motor amps and motor HP being used.
- A 1-piece stainless steel tank cover with a Meco shaft and a variable-frequency drive that is housed in a NEMA 4X/12 washdown-duty enclosure.
- A 75-HP, totally enclosed fan-cooled inverter-duty motor on the 50 SD, whereas the 30SD implements a 40-HP motor.
- An optional process control timer package that consists of a process run timer, a temperature warning and cut-off switch, as well as cooling water flow sensors.
