Permatex gel threadlockers flow easily into threads, even in blind holes, and cure in the absence of air once confined between close-fitting metal surfaces. They cure at room temperature without cracking or shrinking and withstand service temperatures from -65°to +300°F. They are available in a five-gram Gel Squeeze applicator, which provides pinpoint flow control. They stay put, even on vertical, inverted, and hard-to-reach surfaces, and do not “glob” or flake like solid-stick threadlockers. They also do not run, drip, or spill like traditional liquid threadlockers. Medium-strength Blue Gel Squeeze is an all-purpose threadlocker for threaded assemblies 1/4 to 1 in. in diameter. Suitable for nut-and-bolt applications and removable with hand tools for easy disassembly, it typically exhibits 115/53 in.-lbs of break/prevail torque. Red Gel Squeeze is formulated for heavy-duty applications such as threaded assemblies 3/8 to 1 in. or more in diameter. Suitable for permanently locking studs, it requires heat or special tools for removal and typically exhibits 175/230 in.-lbs of break/prevail torque.
