CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Apple Inc. said Wednesday that Bertrand Serlet, the senior vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will be leaving after about 14 years at the company. Craig Federighi, Apple's vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will assume Serlet's responsibilities and report to CEO Steve Jobs.

CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) — Apple Inc. said Wednesday that Bertrand Serlet, the senior vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will be leaving after about 14 years at the company.

Craig Federighi, Apple's vice president of Mac Software Engineering, will assume Serlet's responsibilities and report to CEO Steve Jobs.

Serlet, who joined Apple in 1997, said in a statement that he wants "to focus less on products and more on science."
