iRobot Gets $230M Contract With Naval Sea Systems Command

BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Robot maker iRobot Corp. said Monday that it has received a $230 million contract to provide the Naval Sea Systems Command with PackBot robots, repair parts and other accessories. The PackBot is modeled after the iRobot 510 PackBot, which has performed bomb disposal and other dangerous missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The PackBot is modeled after the iRobot 510 PackBot, which has performed bomb disposal and other dangerous missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Shares in iRobot gained 99 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $37.48 in aftermarket trading. The stock added 12 cents to close the regular session at $36.49.
