SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Hewlett-Packard Co.'s enterprise services business and Microsoft Corp. said Thursday that they have a four-year agreement through which they'll use cloud computing to bring Microsoft's communications and collaboration applications to business and government customers.

The companies said they'll use HP's private cloud services to offer Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, SharePoint Server 2010 and Lync Server 2010.

HP will resell Microsoft Office 365 with several of its own cloud services. And Microsoft plans to use its own public cloud services to offer Microsoft Office 365 and its Office tools.

The companies have worked together in various capacities for more than 25 years.
