Cisco Names New COO

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Cisco Systems Inc., the world's largest maker of networking gear, said Tuesday that it has named Gary Moore to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Moore, currently executive vice president and a 10-year veteran of the company, will oversee the engineering, marketing, operations and services departments as part of his role.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Cisco Systems Inc., the world's largest maker of networking gear, said Tuesday that it has named Gary Moore to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Moore, currently executive vice president and a 10-year veteran of the company, will oversee the engineering, marketing, operations and services departments as part of his role. He will also prioritize the company's investments.

Moore will continue to report to Cisco's chairman and CEO, John Chambers.

As executive vice president, Moore ran Cisco Services, which provides services to businesses' information technology departments. In that role, he managed 10,000 employees.

Before joining Cisco in 2001, he served as CEO of infrastructure services company Netigy Corp.
