Photo of the Day: The Race for the California Bullet Train Contract is On

As the race for a billion dollar contract with California to build a bullet train heats up, see how one company is setting themselves apart.

As the race for a billion dollar contract with California to build a bullet train heats up, Siemens wants to remind the locals of California just how local they are, and they did it in a big way – by installing a full size version of its high speed train on the steps of the California State Capitol.

While Siemens parent company is located in Germany, the company has been in the California region for over 30 years and is trying to promote that. “We are community members here,” said Siemens Rail Systems Division President Michael Cahill. “We think there is a benefit to being local.”

The company hosted tours of the train yesterday and will continue today to show the general public their concept model and how they intend to reshape travel and even the economy of the area.
