IMPO's Photo of the Day: General Motors' New Addition to Detroit

Check out General Motors' newest project designed to give back to Detroit, Michigan in IMPO's photo of the day.

Cars are no longer the only thing taking shape in General Motors’ Detroit Hamtramck Assembly plant; the plant is also the site of an unusual home building project. In an effort to help rebuild Detroit’s economy and housing options, the plant is working to build a home out of a shipping container. According to the AP, skilled trades workers from the plant are working on the framing, electrical and plumbing aspects of the home. The home is scheduled to be completed in the spring and will be transferred to Detroit’s North End neighborhood where it will take the place of a deteriorating home.
