GE Opens New Factory In Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear is expected to join General Electric officials and employees as they open a new factory at Appliance Park in Louisville.

A statement from GE says the opening is "another milestone in the revitalization of GE's Appliances business."

The company also opened a manufacturing facility last month — its first new factory at Appliance Park since 1957.

In addition to announcing the grand opening of the new facility, GE previewed it new refrigerator product line, which will support 600 new jobs. It is one of 11 new products that GE Appliances plans to launch by 2014.
