HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) — The Hershey Co. is selling off part of its original chocolate plant at the sweet price of nearly $58 million.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg reported Monday that the company wants to sell a part of the century-old building that's being used for office space.

Hershey's goal is to lease it back as its corporate headquarters.

It's unclear what'll happen to the rest of the property, including most of the chocolate manufacturing facilities. Chocolate production is ending there next year as the company moves into a new plant in West Hershey.

The new plant will make syrup, milk chocolate, milk chocolate with almond bars, and Hershey's Kisses.

The Patriot-News says the company is spending more than $180 million on the project this year.
