Friday Food Funnies

Okay, I admit it: writing about GMOs, acquisitions, monthly sales figures and the deadly bird flu can get a little humdrum. That's why Food Manufacturing is thrilled to present a new weekly series, Friday Food Funnies.

Okay, I admit it: writing about GMOs, acquisitions, monthly sales figures and the deadly bird flu can get a little humdrum.

That's why Food Manufacturing is thrilled to present a new weekly series, Friday Food Funnies.

Each Friday, we will post a joke, picture, pun, or other hilarious food-related item to our site and one of our e-newsletters.

I can't promise they won't be a little bland (just add some salt!), but if nothing else I hope to bring some light-hearted fun to your day.

In honor of our first Friday Food Funnies post, how about something punny?

A dad (Chris Durso of Foodiggity.com) and his son created whimsical, pun-driven photos shaped like food.

The Foodnited States of America, a pun-fueled series of U.S. states made from food, began innocently enough with, "Dad...What if you made States, but like, they were made of food, like?"
