Keurig Plans $330M Plant in Georgia

Keurig Green Mountain Inc., one of the largest packaged coffee manufacturers in the United States, has announced plans for a cold-brewing facility in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The company is launching a cold-brewing system in partnership with Coca-Cola.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A coffee and tea company has announced plans to develop a multimillion dollar plant in metro Atlanta.

Officials from Keurig Green Mountain Inc. on Thursday announced plans to develop a $337 million cold brewing facility in Douglas County. The plant is expected to create 550 new jobs over the next five years.

Officials say the company is developing a 585,000 square-foot manufacturing center where pods for the company's new, cold-brewed beverage system will be made. The cold brewing system is being launched in partnership with the Coca-Cola company.

Keurig President and CEO Brian Kelley said in a statement that Douglas County offers the company a diverse and skilled workforce, along with geographic and economic benefits.
