EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State University is recalling some cookie and ice cream products because malfunctioning equipment may have contaminated them with metal shavings.

The recall was issued Friday for MSU Bakers Decorated Sugar Cookies, Udder Delight's Swiss Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie sandwiches and Udder Delight's Classic Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Cookie sandwiches.

Production of the items was stopped after a school employee discovered the problem with the machine on Thursday. The products also were ordered pulled from store shelves. No injuries have been reported.

Officials with the East Lansing school notified the state Agriculture department, which has started an inspection.

Michigan State says it will give credit to consumers who bring the items in for disposal.
