BEND, Ore. (AP) — Boneyard Beer plans to open a new production plant in northeast Bend by May.

The Bulletin newspaper reports that a canning line at the new facility will allow the brewery to expand beyond kegs to cans.

Boneyard began selling beer in April 2010 and has steadily increased its volume.

Boneyard co-owner and brewmaster Tony Lawrence told the newspaper that the brewery will likely produce nearly 10,000 barrels of beer this year and the new production plant will allow Boneyard to double that number in 2013.

Oregon Liquor Control Commission statistics from September, the last month available, show Boneyard ranking 12th in sales out of the 126 breweries that reported selling beer in the state.
