Reser's Cut Ribbon For New Plant

Reser's Fine Foods president Al Reser was in Topeka April 21 for the grand opening of the new manufacturing plant at Southeast Sixth Street and Deer Creek Trafficway. During the day of celebration, business leaders and elected officials toured the new plant and sampled products "made in Topeka." With the addition of the Deer Creek Plant and its 275 jobs, Reser's now employees a total of 765 people in their three Topeka plants.

Reser's Fine Foods president Al Reser was in Topeka April 21 for the grand opening of the new manufacturing plant at Southeast Sixth Street and Deer Creek Trafficway. During the day of celebration, business leaders and elected officials toured the new plant and sampled products "made in Topeka."

With the addition of the Deer Creek Plant and its 275 jobs, Reser's now employees a total of 765 people in their three Topeka plants. Reser's produces 15 million pounds annually at the burrito plant, 128 million pounds annually at the salad plant, and they estimate they will process 125 million pounds of salad at the Deer Creek facility in the first year.

The company's primary products are side dishes including numerous recipes of mash potatoes, mac and cheese, rice side dishes, fresh cut hash browns, diced potatoes, and private label products. They use 12 trucks of raw potatoes per day and one truck per day of whole milk. Their number one item is Fresh Mash Potatoes.
