SPARKS, Md. (AP) — McCormick & Company Inc. is voluntarily recalling an all-purpose batter due to an unlabeled egg ingredient.

The Golden Dipt Fry Easy All-Purpose Batter was sold in 10-ounce cans in the southeastern United States from Jan. 22 on. The affected cans have the UPC Code 4123470111 and a "best by" date of Nov. 17, 2011 printed on the bottom of the carton.

The company said a very limited number of packages with this date code contain an undeclared egg ingredient. People who have an allergy to egg run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

McCormick said a pouch of funnel cake batter, which contains an egg ingredient, was erroneously being packaged in the Golden Dipt package. The ingredient statement on the package does not list egg as an ingredient.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported.

Consumers are urged to contact McCormick's Consumer Affairs team at 1-800-632-5847 for a replacement or full refund, as well as instructions on what to do with the product.
