The U.S. is expected to embrace a globally harmonized system (GHS) that packages, classifies and labels chemicals. So says Bill Barger from packaging firm ALL-PAK, who spoke at the Pittsburgh Chemical Day conference. Japan, Australia, Brazil, Canada and New Zealand are countries that have either adopted the requirements or are in the process of doing so. The European Union has indicated that GHS will be adopted as part of its Reach initiative.
