Spirax Sarco to Reduce Energy Intensity

Spirax Sarco joined the Save Energy Now LEADER program and made a pledge to reduce industrial energy intensity at its headquarters by 25 percent over the next decade.

Spirax Sarco has recognized that the United States industrial sector accounts for more than 30 percent of the energy used nationwide and 27 percent of the country’s carbon emissions. The government has made major mandates to improve energy efficiency, enhance the country’s energy security and strengthen the American economy.

To support this effort to save energy, Spirax Sarco joined the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Save Energy Now LEADER program and made a voluntary pledge to reduce its industrial energy intensity, at its U.S. headquarters by 25 percent over the next 10 years. By signing this pledge, Spirax Sarco established itself among the vanguard of forward-thinking American companies and is setting an example for others in the industry.

The LEADER program is a new component of the existing and successful Save Energy Now initiatives, which provide participating businesses with tools and training to help them reduce energy, improve productivity, reliability, cost-effectiveness and overall environmental performance. More than 2,000 plants received energy assessments through the Save Energy Now program, and to date, gave identified opportunities for cost savings.
