LITCHVILLE, N.D. (AP) — A fire at a fertilizer plant in the southeastern North Dakota town of Litchville destroyed a building and about $300,000 worth of dry fertilizer.

Fire Chief Darren Miedema tells The Jamestown Sun that no one was hurt in the fire early Tuesday. The cause of the blaze wasn't immediately determined, but Dakota Plains Cooperative President Ken Astrup says the fire might have been sparked by lightning.

Astrup says the building will be rebuilt. The Valley City Times-Record reports that firefighters saved a nearby building at the plant, though it had some scorched steel siding and melted plastic inside.
