Siemens will sell its assembly systems business (Siemens Electronics Assembly Systems / SEAS) to ASM Pacific Technology (ASMPT), headquartered in Hong Kong. ASMPT is a subsidiary of ASM, headquartered in the Netherlands, one of the worlds leading suppliers for the semiconductor and LED industry. With SEAS, ASMPT will expand its product portfolio and gain a strong foothold in Europe. The sale is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities and the shareholders of the buyer.
