LEOMINSTER, Mass. (AP) — A plastics company owner charged with illegally cutting trees on protected land near his home in Massachusetts has agreed to pay $10,000 in restitution.
The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/2fzK6Kd ) reports that 54-year-old Paul Boudreau, of Princeton, was charged in April with timber destruction and other offenses.
Boudreau, the chief executive officer of UrthPact Co. in Leominster, was arrested after an investigation by state Environmental Police and officials into illegal tree cutting on Wachusett (wah-CHOO'-set) Mountain State Reservation land.
Authorities say 114 trees were cut on state property during the past two years and that a stone wall was damaged.
A judge recently continued the case without a finding for three months with an agreement that Boudreau pay restitution and have the stone wall and boundary marker restored to their original condition.
