GE Names Marco Annunziata to Lead Global Market Insights

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--02 December 2010-- GE announced today that Marco Annunziata has been named Executive Director, Global Market Insights and Chief Economist effective January 2011. In this newly created role, Annunziata will conduct economic and market analysis to help GE leaders make decisions about business strategy. He will report to Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Beth Comstock.

Annunziata served in senior economist and strategy positions in public and private practice, most recently as the Chief Economist of the UniCredit Group, and Global Head of Economics, Commodities and Fixed Income/FX Research.

Marcos distinguished background and extensive knowledge will provide GE with world-class leadership in macro-economic and geo-political trend analysis, Comstock said. Marco is a respected, global leader and we are delighted he is joining GE.

Annunziata joined UniCredit in 2003 from Deutsche Bank London, where he was Chief Economist for the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa region. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he spent six years with the International Monetary Fund, where he split his time between emerging markets and the Eurozone. Annunziata, 45, is a graduate of the University of Bologna, and received a masters degree and PhD in Economics from Princeton University.
