Monsanto Names Courduroux CFO

Seed maker Monsanto Co. on Wednesday promoted Pierre Courduroux to chief financial officer effective Jan. 1.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Seed maker Monsanto Co. on Wednesday promoted Pierre Courduroux to chief financial officer effective Jan. 1.

Courduroux, 45, is a 20-year veteran of Monsanto who most recently has overseen the finances of its global business operations. He earlier served as chief financial officer for Monsanto's global vegetable business.

The France-born Courduroux succeeds Carl Casale, who is departing at the end of the year to become president and CEO of Minneapolis-based CHS Inc.

Monsanto shares rose 15 cents to close at $66.45 in Wednesday trading.
