CINCINNATI (AP) -- General Electric Co. says that two of its business units will team up to make long-life spark plugs for gas engines.
The partnership is between GE's Jenbacher division, which makes gas engines, and Unison, a division of GE Aviation, which makes engine components.
The two will develop prototypes of the spark plugs by early next year, with production expected to begin in 2012.
GE shares fell 17 cents to $15.22 in morning trading.
