MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- A northern Indiana popcorn company has signed a deal to provide popcorn to a Chinese movie theater company.
WBST-FM in Muncie reports Weaver Popcorn Co. chief operating officer Will Weaver traveled to China to sign the deal to provide popcorn to Chinese movie theater company Stellar Cinema. The Chinese company has 100 screens with plans to triple in size.
Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman and a group of Indiana business officials in China on an agricultural trade mission looked on as the deal with Van Buren-based Weaver Popcorn was signed.
Details of the deal were not released.
