SUNNYVALE, Calif. (AP) -- Chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said Thursday it named Thomas Seifert as senior vice president and chief financial officer.
Seifert, 46, replaces Robert Rivet, who was had been promoted to chief operations and administrative officer at the company.
Seifert has been chief operating officer and chief financial officer at Germany's Qimonda AG, where he was also was a member of the management board. Qimonda filed for bankruptcy protection in January.
Previously, Seifert was senior vice president and general manager of the wireline business group at Infineon AG.
