RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kelly Reed has been named Partner of Tompkins Associates, a provider of global end-to-end supply chain solutions.
As a Partner, Reed, who has been an asset to Tompkins for more than nine years, will lead Tompkins’ Material Handling Integration Team.
Reed takes the reigns from Jim Capece, who retired after eight years at Tompkins and 35-plus years working in systems integration.
With more than 30 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, warehouse management systems, inventory management, and inventory deployment, Reed’s practical distribution operations and material handling expertise has helped improve the supply chains of a number of companies such as General Services Administration, U.S. Navy, Australian Defense Force, Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, Premier Beverage, Pennsylvania Liquor Beverage Control, Wickes Furniture and Sally Beauty.
Prior to joining Tompkins, Reed served in the U.S. Marine Corps in a variety of logistics positions from the unit level to the national level and completed his military service as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as the Associate Director of Materials Support at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill.
