Fushi Copperweld Names Chief Operating Officer

Wire manufacturer promoted Dwight Berry, vice president of commercial development, to chief operating officer.

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Wire manufacturer Fushi Copperweld Inc. announced Tuesday the promotion of a company vice president to chief operating officer.

Dwight Berry, who was vice president of commercial development since June 2008, takes the post immediately. He had been general manager and operational manager in charge of sales and customer service and manufacturing operations.

In May, Chris Finley resigned as COO, ending a seven-month tenure.

Fushi Copperweld, which makes wire used for telecommunications, utilities, transportation and industrial applications, also said Executive Vice President and Corporate Controller James Todd left the company. President and Chief Financial Officer Chris Wang has taken on those roles.

Shares fell 3 cents to $5.08 in morning trading.
