LATHAM, N.Y. (AP) — Plug Power Inc. said Tuesday that Roger Saillant will retire as president, chief executive and director when he turns 65 on April 7.
Saillant has been chief executive of the power generation systems maker for the past seven years. Before joining Plug Power, Saillant spent more than 30 years with Ford Motor Co. and Visteon Corp.
The company's board has appointed a search committee for succession planning and will retain an executive search firm to assist the committee.
''I will be working closely with the Plug Power board and management team to facilitate an effective and orderly transition during the upcoming months,'' Saillant said in a statement.
Plug Power Inc. will release its third-quarter financial results Wednesday. The company uses proton exchange membrane fuel cells to generate electricity from hydrogen gas without combustion, providing power systems for commercial and residential buildings and for automotive applications.
