NEW YORK (AP) -- AgFeed Industries Inc., a China-based animal feed maker and pork producer, said Tuesday it acquired Chinese premix feed company Hainan Hopejia Feed Co.
Terms were undisclosed. Agfeed said the deal will immediately help 2008 earnings.
AgFeed already owns several hog farms in the region. The acquisition is the company's fifth premix feed manufacturing plant in China.
The acquisition makes AgFeed the largest premix feed producer in Hainan and will allow the company to expand hog production in the region.
