German business software maker said buying Visiprise would offer manufacturing customers a 'robust product offering' that would boost operational efficiency and enhance quality.

NEW YORK (AP) -- German business software maker SAP AG said Tuesday it plans to buy Visiprise Inc., a privately held manufacturing software maker based in Alpharetta, Ga.

Financial terms were not disclosed. SAP said buying Visiprise would offer its manufacturing customers a ''robust product offering'' that would boost operational efficiency and enhance quality.

The company said Visiprise serves more than 60 customers, many of which are SAP customers as well. SAP expects the acquisition will be completed in July.

Visiprise has about 300 employees.

SAP's American Depositary Shares climbed 17 cents to $53.40 in late morning trading.
