Tyson Foods Names CFO

Dennis Leatherby has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer of the world's largest meat company.

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) -- Tyson Foods Inc. has promoted Dennis Leatherby to executive vice president and chief financial officer of the world's largest meat company.

The Springdale-based company announced the move Monday. Leatherby has been with Tyson for 18 years and moves up from senior vice president of finance and treasurer. In that position, Leatherby worked in acquisitions and represented Tyson Foods in dealings with ratings agencies and banks.

Tyson President and CEO Richard Bond says the 48-year-old Leatherby will help in the company's strategic planning and in other areas.

Former chief financial officer Wade Miquelon left to take a similar position at Walgreen Co.
