Advanced Medical Optics Names New CFO

Michael J. Lambert will take over the position on Oct. 15; former chief finanical officer Richard A. Meier will remain chief operating officer.

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Eye care products maker Advanced Medical Optics Inc. on Tuesday named Michael J. Lambert as its chief financial officer, effective Oct. 15.
 
He succeeds Richard A. Meier, who served as CFO and chief operating officer. Meier, 48, will continue as COO and will take on managing the company's cataract/implant business and global customer services function.
 
Lambert will oversee the company's finance, accounting, tax, treasury and information technology functions. He will report to chairman, president and chief executive Jim Mazzo. Lambert, 45, previously served as senior vice president and CFO at Quest Software Inc.
 
C. Russell Trenary III, who previously served as president of the cataract/implant business, now will become executive vice president of global public policy and medical education. Both Meier and Trenary, 50, will continue to report to Mazzo.
