Cooper Industries To Acquire MadahCom For $43 Million

Florida-based MadahCom is a manufacturer of wireless Mass Notification Systems for military, commercial and industrial locations.

HOUSTON - Cooper Industries, Ltd., a provider of electrical products, announced Tuesday its acquisition of MadahCom, Inc., a manufacturer of secure wireless emergency control and Mass Notification Systems (MNS), for $43 million.

Florida-based MadahCom, had sales of about $22 million in hardware, software and installation services in 2006, and has over 200 global installations at military, government, commercial sites, industrial locations and other campus environments.

MadahCom will become part of Cooper Wheelock's Notification Systems business.

According to Cooper Industries’ Chairman and CEO Kirk S. Hachigian, the acquisition of MadahCom coupled with Cooper’s acquisition of Wheelock, Inc. in 2006 and its existing Cooper Menvier business, will give the company a strong global platform in the fire and safety notification market.

Cooper Wheelock, a manufacturer of notification systems for personnel and property safety, is an affiliate of Cooper Menvier, a division of Cooper Industries.
