Pipex Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which produces late-stage drug candidates for the treatment of neurologic and fibrotic diseases, announced Monday that it appointed Dr. Kay E. Stremler as Vice President of Manufacturing.
“Kay has a strong background in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and product commercialization with over 17 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries,” said Steve H. Kanzer, Chairman and CEO of Pipex.
Before Pipex, Dr. Stremler served as the Director of Bioprocess R&D and Clinical Supply, Pharmaceutical Sciences for Esperion Therapeutics.
Prior to that, she was at Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharma and was responsible for GMP manufacturing management. She also spent 11 years at Immunex Corp, where she served as the Director, International Quality Operations.
Dr. Stremler holds a B.S. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from the University of Utah.
