Armor Holdings Receives Orders Totaling $86 Million From U.S. Army

Contract is for work on M1114 program.

Armor Holdings Inc., a manufacturer of security products, tactical wheeled vehicles, and vehicle armor systems serving military, law enforcement, homeland security and commercial markets, said Monday it received orders totaling $86.1 million from the U.S. Army.

Armor said $80.7 million is for the production of M1114 Up-Armored HMMWV product improvements which increase IED protection levels for new and fielded vehicles, and $5.6 million is to provide an electrically powered system to rotate the Gunner Protection Kit (GPK).

The company said the new work is a modification to its existing multi-year contract with the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command for purchase of vehicles and components to be delivered to the U.S. Army. Production will be performed during 2006 at the Armor Holdings Aerospace and Defense Group facilities in Fairfield, Ohio.
