Albemarle To Up Prices On Saytex Flame Retardants

Increase of 5 to 10 percent effective at start of 2007.

Albemarle Corp. will increase the prices for certain SAYTEX flame retardants for polyurethane foams and other materials, effective on all shipments made on or after January 1, 2007, or as contracts allow, the company said Monday.

Prices for SAYTEX HBCD flame retardant will increase by 10 percent, while prices for the SAYTEX RB79 flame retardant product family will increase by 5 percent.

Albemarle flame retardants help prevent fire in or improve the fire safety of materials found in circuit boards, connectors and enclosures for electronic and electrical devices; comfort foam in furniture and automobiles; wire & cable; and roofing, rigid insulation foam, adhesives, coatings and other construction materials.
