Ladder Manufacturer Werner Appoints New President, CEO

New president, Edward Gericke, will continue as senior vice president of sales & marketing; new CEO James Loughlin's company was advising on Werner's bankruptcy restructuring.

Werner Co., a manufacturer of ladders and climbing equipment headquartered in Greenville, Pa., announced Monday the naming of Edward Gericke as president and James J. Loughlin, Jr. as interim CEO.

Along with his new duties, Gericke will continue serving in his current position as senior vice president of sales & marketing.

Loughlin's firm, Loughlin Meghji + Co., has been advising Werner on their restructuring efforts after Werner voluntarily filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in June, 2006.

Gericke will succeed Steven Richman, who had been Werner's president and CEO, and who will be leaving the company.

Gericke's appointment is effective immediately; Loughlin's appointment is subject to bankruptcy court approval.
