Rockaway, NJ -R&D Magazine is now accepting entries for the 2015 R&D 100 Awards, the esteemed international competition honoring the 100 most innovative technologies and services in 2014. This year’s program has been expanded to include a wider range of categories spanning the manufacturing, design engineering, and consumer markets, in addition to science, academia, and government. Also, new special recognition honors will include Market Disruptor, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Green Tech.
“The ability to turn ideas into useful new products, services and ways of doing things is a priceless asset in a rapidly changing world,” said Jim Lonergan, CEO of Advantage Business Media, the owner of R&D Magazine. “These awards honor the people who push the boundaries and deliver the game changing innovative solutions.”
The broader range of technology and special recognition categories creates additional opportunities to win an R&D 100 Award, not only for a product’s technological significance, but also for its long-lasting and decisive value to society.
“Widening the scope of the R&D 100 Awards allows us to spotlight the significant number of innovations every year that fall outside the inner circle of research and development,” said Tim Studt, R&D Editor-in-Chief. “Winning an R&D 100 Award cements a place of honor and respect in the marketplace, as the prestigious Awards have a long history of recognizing true contributions to science and technology.”
Past R&D 100 winners have included sophisticated testing equipment, innovative new materials, chemistry breakthroughs, biomedical products, consumer items, and high-energy physics. High-profile innovations that garnered an Award also include the ATM, anticancer drug Taxol, the HDTV, a biological 3D printer, fetal electrocardiograms, the artificial retina, and the 3D-printed robotic hand.
The deadline for entries is Monday, April 20, 2015. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Nov. 13 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. Visit the R&D 100 Awards website www.rd100awards.com for more information.
