The North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) is conducting a special industry competition to promote cutting-edge die cast design. With its annual International Die Casting Competition, NADCA recognizes the outstanding casting designs of the year, based on their design, quality, cost savings, ingenuity, innovation and industry-changing potential.

The competition is open to die castings made with aluminum, magnesium, or zinc. Within these alloy categories, there are specific weight categories that showcase the versatility of these casting materials. The winners in each category will be announced during the 110th Metal Casting Congress in Columbus, OH, April 18-21, 2006. According to NADCA’s President Daniel L. Twarog, the competition does more than highlight the winning designs — it also promotes the increased use of castings in the automotive, consume,r and aerospace end markets.

Companies interested in entering the competition can download the entry form at www.diecasting.org/castings/competition or call Leo J. Baran, NADCA’s marketing director at 847-808-3153. All entries must be postmarked by Thursday, February 3, 2006.
