LG Philips is claiming to be the first vendor to receive accreditation under the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, which officially went online on July first.
LG is the first TFT/LCD panel manufacturer to be recognized as an internationally accredited RoHS testing lab, according to the vendor.
The accreditation was awarded by the European Union’s German accreditation organization EU TUV. This will allow the company’s in-house laboratory tests to have the same credibility and trustworthiness as those performed by official RoHS authorized test centers.
