Parts supplier Federal-Mogul has announced it will close its St. Johns factory. The plant currently employs 420 workers.
The first job cuts will start by the end of 2006, affecting a total of 300 employees. An additional 100 will be eliminated by the end of 2007. A small crew of employees will stay on board until the plant closes.
The work will be sent to plants in Greenville, Blacksburg, VA, Puebla, Mexico and Shanghai, China.
