Eaton 's European Automotive Controls Purchased By BorgWarner

The product line has expected 2006 sales of $57 million.

BorgWarner Inc, which engineers components and systems for vehicle powertrain applications, announced Monday that it has purchased the European Transmission and Engine Controls product line from Eaton Corp. The transmission and engine controls operation specializes in high pressure control solenoids for automated transmissions and common rail diesel and gas engines. It has an expected 2006 sales projection of $57 million.

“Intelligent powertrains are a smart way to drive improvements in fuel economy and emissions worldwide,” said Tim Manganello, BorgWarner Chairman and CEO. “Integrating Eaton’s European controls products with our existing controls know-how gives us new opportunities for growth in these critical areas.”

The Monaco-based controls operation employs approximately 200 people and will be integrated into the BorgWarner Transmission Systems and the BorgWarner Drivetrain Group.
