Honda Recalling Some Odysseys, Says Hydraulic Pumps Faulty

More than 2,700 minivans involved in recall.

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese automaker Honda said Thursday it will recall more than 2,700 cars over faulty hydraulic pumps.

Honda will recall 2,743 ''Odyssey'' minivans manufactured between October and November in 2003, the company said on its Web site.

Some of the pumps could break as they were inappropriately fitted to the vehicles' continuously variable transmission, or CVT, and the vehicles may stop running, it said.

Honda spokeswoman Makiko Yoshida said that the model is not sold overseas.
