The Grand Junction City Council is moving forward with a project that would take methane gas produced at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility for fuel.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — The Grand Junction City Council is moving forward with a project that would take methane gas produced at the Persigo Wastewater Treatment Facility for fuel.

Wastewater Services Manager Dan Tonello says it will save money and protect the environment. City officials said Monday they are hoping to get grants to develop the process.

According to KJCT-TV (http://tinyurl.com/kr7u5ha ), the gas will be used to fuel the city's fleet of vehicles.
