LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (AP) -- Air Products and Chemicals Inc. said Monday that it will increase the price of its Tomamine surfactant and other additive products by 5 cents per pound.

The company supplies oxygen and other gases to industrial and medical companies. Surfactants -- used as detergents, wetting agents and emulsifiers -- lower the surface tension between two liquids or between a liquid and a solid.

The company will increase the price of Tomamine surfactant, TomadryT surfactant, TomadyneT surfactant, and Tomadol surfactant, Nonidet surfactant and Nonatell surfactant. The increase is effective May 1, or as contracts allow.

Shares of Air Products rose 26 cents to close at $90.74 Monday.
